SKILLMAN, N.J. - For the last Campbell/ITA College Tennis Ranking of the regular season, prior to the NCAA Championship selections, it is only fitting that a new women's team sits at No. 1. In the ever-changing women's team rankings, Baylor has once again leap-frogged back ahead of North Carolina to claim the top spot for the third time in the last seven weeks. It is the eighth time in the past 11 weeks that a new team is ranked No. 1 in the women's rankings.
The top-ranked Virginia men's tennis team has sat atop the rankings all 11 weeks since capturing the ITA Men's Team Indoor title. The Cavaliers recently completed an undefeated run through the ACC regular season for the fourth consecutive season. UVA also tied the school record for wins in a season with their 32nd victory of the season.
Meanwhile, the North Carolina women dropped a spot to No. 2 after being edged 4-3 by Georgia Tech in the ACC Women's Championship Final after completing the first 11-0 regular season in ACC history. New No. 1 Baylor has suffered only two losses on the season to the aforementioned Tar Heels and to fourth-ranked Michigan. The Lady Bears ended the season on an 18-match win streak, including an undefeated mark of 11-0 in Big 12 play as they head into their conference championship this weekend.
