Middlebury joins Amherst atop Division III Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings
Both squads hold wins over 2009 NCAA Division III Champions

SKILLMAN, N.J. – The men from Middlebury join the Amherst women as No. 1 in the Division III Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings, after completing a very successful spring trip to the Golden State that included four ranked wins, one of which came against previously top-ranked UC Santa Cruz.

Amherst, who just recently began their spring slate remain undefeated in Division III competition, with three wins over opponents in the top 25 and continuing to ride its win in the fall over No. 2 Williams, 6-3, in a a rematch of the 2009 NCAA Division III Championship.

Both programs have shown their ability to win the big matches but they have also won their matches by considerable margins. The Jeffs of Amherst have outscored their opponents by a total of 49-5 while the Middlebury Panthers have shut down the competition 66-7 in their seven victories.

Follow the Leader:For the men, following Middlebury is (in order): Washington U., Emory, Cal Lutheran, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, UC Santa Cruz, Kenyon, Johns Hopkins, Amherst and UNC Wesleyan. On the women's side, Amherst is followed by: Williams, Chicago, Emory, Washington & Lee, Denison, DePauw, Pomona-Pitzer, Gustavus Adolphus and Carnegie Mellon.

Twice as Nice: Fifteen schools have both their men’s and women’s programs ranked inside this week’s top 25 led by Armstrong Atlantic with both squads ranked No. 1.  

Mark Your Calendar:This year's NCAA Division III Championships feature the final eight men’s and final eight women’s teams facing off May 25-30 in Oberlin, Ohio, hosted by Oberlin College and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.

Next Up:The next Division III ranking period will be published April 13, including the Regional and National team, singles and doubles rankings. These rankings reflect results through Tuesday, March 23.
