CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The matchups have been set for the 16 teams competing in the 2010 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Men's Team Indoor Championships. The University of Virginia will host the 36th annual Championships at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va. "The ITA is delighted to return to the Boar's Head Sports Club, marking the second time in two years that the University of Virginia has hosted an ITA National Championship," said Executive Director, David A Benjamin. "I know that all of our varsity student-athletes are looking forward greatly to participating in this event." Come out and see the best in varsity college tennis for four days at the Boar's Head Sports Club. Admission is free. Alabama: Currently ranked #19 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #21 Duke and #23 Arizona. The Crimson Tide have two players ranked in singles (#62 Saketh Myeni and #123 Michael Thompson). The doubles team of Crieghton Blanchard/Michael Davis is also ranked #39. Florida: Currently ranked #11 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #41 Georgia Tech and #59 Furman. The Gators have one player ranked in singles (#7 Alexandre Lacroix), who is also ranked #10 in doubles with Antoine Benneteau. Fresno State: Currently ranked #26 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #17 Fresno State, #32 Rice and #75 Pacific. The Bulldogs have two teams ranked in doubles (#20 Mirko Zapletal/Taylor Leiby and #36 Rikus de Villiers/Remi Boutillier). Georgia: Currently ranked #7 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #22 North Carolina, #38 Northwestern and #72 USC Upstate. The Bulldogs have two players ranked in singles (#45 Javier Garrapiz and #60 Drake Bernstein). Illinois: Currently ranked #12 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #20 Virginia Tech and #24 Washington. The Illini have one player ranked in singles (#43 Dennis Nevolo) who is also ranked #2 in doubles with Marek Czerwinski.
Kentucky: Currently ranked #14 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #15 Wake Forest and #36 Michigan. The Wildcats have two players ranked in singles (#8 Eric Quigley and #39 Alex Musialek) and the duo of Quigley/Brad Cox is ranked #9 in doubles.
Louisville: Currently ranked #16 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #25 Wisconsin, #33 LSU and #60 East Tennessee State. The Cardinals have four players ranked in singles (#46 Austen Childs, #81 Andrew Carter and #84 Simon Childs) and two teams ranked in doubles (#14 Childs/Childs and #33 Alejandro Calligari/Robert Hall). Mississippi: Currently ranked #10 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #49 Indiana, #51 Arkansas and #61 Mississippi State. The Rebels have two players ranked in singles (#49 Tucker Vorster and #61 Marcel Thiemann) and two teams ranked in doubles (#52 Adrian Forberg Skogeng/Vorster and #56 Kalle Norberg/Vorster). Tennessee: Currently ranked #5 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #45 South Carolina, #55 Utah, #57 Middle Tennessee State and #60 East Tennessee State. The Volunteers have four players ranked in singles (#2 John-Patrick Smith, #22 Rhyne Williams, #52 Matt Brewer and #68 Boris Conkic) and three teams ranked in doubles (#4 Conkic/Smith, #7 Sandgren/Smith and #12 Conkic/Williams). Texas: Currently ranked #8 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #35 California, #51 Arkansas and #57 Middle Tennessee State. The Longhorns have five players ranked in singles (#5 Dimitar Kutrovsky, #9 Ed Corrie, #38 Josh Zavala, #85 Daniel Whitehead and #104 Vasko Mladenov). The tandem of Kutrovsky and Josh Zavala are ranked #22 in doubles. UCLA: Currently ranked #4 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #13 Pepperdine and #40 Hawaii. The Bruins have two players ranked in singles (#94 Amit Inbar and #118 Nick Meister) and the doubles team of Kallim Stewart and Matt Brooklyn ranked #36.
USC: Currently ranked #1 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings with victories over #48 Vanderbilt and #70 Yale.
