UCLA Hangs on to Top Spot, USC Comfortably No.1 in Campbell/ITA Team Rankings
Bruins still No. 1 after first loss of season; Trojans continue to cruise

SKILLMAN, N.J. - Despite suffering their first loss of the season, the UCLA Bruins remained No. 1 in this week's edition of the Campbell/ITA Division I Women's Team Rankings. UCLA had won 20 matches in a row before meeting No. 10 California on Friday the 13th in Berkeley. The Golden Bears were looking to get revenge for the 4-3 loss the Bruins handed them earlier this season in Los Angeles. This time, California was at full strength with the services of its top player senior Jana Juricova, as the Bears were able to claim the 4-3 victory. Any question about how the Bruins would respond to a loss were answered emphatically the very next day, as UCLA went into Palo Alto and came away with a 5-2 victory over No. 5 Stanford, snapping a streak of 157 consecutive home wins in the regular season for the Cardinal.

It was business as usual last weekend for the top-ranked team in the Campbell/ITA Division I Men's Team Rankings. Despite facing two top-15 opponents, USC managed to produce impressive triumphs. The Trojans swept the No. 12 Stanford Cardinal 7-0 on Saturday, taking all three doubles contests and only surrendering one set in singles action. USC was almost as impressive against No. 14 California in a match that was moved to Sunday due to a rain out on Friday, defeating the Golden Bears 6-1. Now sitting at an impressive 25-0 on the season, USC extended its overall winning streak to 45 dual victories in a row.

Follow the Leader: For the men, following USC is (in order): Virginia, Ohio State, Georgia, UCLA, Kentucky, Pepperdine, Duke, Mississippi State and Florida. On the women's side, UCLA is followed by: Duke, Florida, USC, Stanford, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Miami (FL) and California.

Conference Count: The number of men's and women's teams from each conference that appear in the Campbell/ITA Division I Top 25 Rankings are listed numerically. Men's Top 25: SEC - 8; Pac-12 - 4; ACC, Big 12 and Big Ten - 3; WCC - 2; Conference USA and Ivy League - 1. Four SEC has placed four teams in the top 10 of this week's poll, the most of any conference. Women's Top 25: ACC and SEC - 6; Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12 - 4; Big East - 1. Once again, all four of the Pac-12 teams landed inside the top 10 this week, including three in the top five.

Double Dip: A total of 15 schools have placed both their men's and women's teams in this week's Campbell/ITA Rankings top 25. Duke, Florida, Georgia, UCLA, and USC find both their men's and women's teams in the top 10 this week.
