UCLA Joins USC atop First Computerized Campbell/ITA Team Rankings

Will, Frank top spots in singles; Stanford, Ohio State top doubles

SKILLMAN, N.J. - This is the first week that the Campbell/ITA Division I College Tennis Rankings are based on the computer point-per-match formula, causing several major changes throughout the rankings. The most notable change is the UCLA women taking over the top spot, while both the Stanford and Florida women are now outside the top 10.

The Bruins have navigated through a tough schedule so far this season, collecting an impressive seven victories over teams currently in the top 25 of the Campbell/ITA Division I Women's Rankings, including four wins over top 10 teams. UCLA is set for a showdown with No. 2 USC on Thursday, March 1.

Meanwhile, on the men's side, top-ranked USC continues to lead the men's field. Just like the UCLA women, the Trojans have already taken down seven top 25 teams in this week's Campbell/ITA Division I Men's Rankings, four of which are in the top 10. USC and the No. 3 Bruins will square off on Wednesday, February 29.

Follow the Leader: For the men, following USC is (in order): Ohio State, UCLA, Virginia, Duke, Georgia, Stanford, Texas, Kentucky and Florida. On the women's side, UCLA is followed by: USC, Duke, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, California, Northwestern, Texas and Miami (FL).

Conference Count: The number of men's and women's teams from each conference that appear in the Campbell/ITA Division I Top 25 Rankings are listed numerically. Men's Top 25: SEC - 8; Pac-10 - 5; ACC, Big 12, and Big Ten - 3; WCC - 2; WAC - 1. Women's Top 25: SEC - 6; ACC - 5; Pac-12 and Big 12 - 4; Big Ten and WCC - 2; Big East and Ivy - 1.

Double Dip: A total of 15 schools have placed both their men's and women's teams in this week's Campbell/ITA Rankings top 25. Duke, Georgia, Texas, UCLA, USC, and Virginia find both their men's and women's teams in the top 10 this week.
