SKILLMAN, NJ (May 27) - The 2015 NCAA Division II Champion Barry men and Armstrong State women capped off undefeated season to finish the year atop the Oracle/ITA Division II National Collegiate Team Rankings. Final regional rankings have also been released and can be viewed here for the men and here for the women.
Hawaii Pacific ends the season ranked No. 2, followed by NCAA Semifinalist Armstrong State at No. 3. West Florida, which started the season No. 1 after winning the NCAA title last season, comes in at No. 4. Lander rounds out the Top 5, up three spots from last month after its semifinal appearance in Surprise, Ariz.
On the women's side, the Armstrong State Pirates made their fourth straight appearance in the NCAA Championship final, winning their 33rd straight match and their sixth NCAA title in the past eight years. The Pirates took over the top spot in February by toppling preseason No. 1 Barry, and bested the Buccaneers again in the NCAA Championship match.
Barry's title defense came up short, but the Buccaneers end the season ranked No. 2 after a 24-2 season, with both losses at the hands of the national champions. NCAA Semifinalist BYU-Hawaii finished No.3, followed by Lynn fourth and West Florida fifth. Southwest Baptist earned the No. 10 ranking, an eight-spot jump, after racing to the NCAA Semifinals.
