Oklahoma takes over top spot in ITA Division I National Men's Team Rankings

No changes to the women's Top 10

SKILLMAN, NJ (Feb. 17) - Monday's ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championship final pitted No. 1 USC versus No. 2 Oklahoma, a rematch of the 2014 NCAA Team Championship from this past May. The budding rivalry between the Trojans and Sooners has now seen them split two championship finals, as Oklahoma avenged the May loss with a 4-2 win yesterday. As a result, Oklahoma has taken over the No. 1 ranking and pushed the No. 2 Trojans out of the top spot for the first time this season.    

Georgia and Virginia also swapped rankings in the first rankings re-issue for the men since February 3rd. No. 3 Georgia's semifinal showing this week was enough to push it ahead of Virginia, which fell from No. 3 to No. 4 after being upset in the quarterfinals.

Baylor is ranked in the Top 5 this week after being tied for No. 10 with UCLA last week. The 11th seeded Baylor Bears upset Duke (4-1) and Virginia (4-3) en route to the semifinals and are now ranked No. 5. 

Illinois and Duke each dropped one spot to make room for Baylor. The Illini are now ranked No. 6, and the Blue Devils are No. 7. Rounding out the Top 10 are No. 8 North Carolina, No. 9 Ohio State and No. 10 Texas. 

On the women's side, the Top 10 remains the same after it was similarly shaken up during the ITA Division I National Women's Team Indoor Championships. The earliest movement in the women's rankings comes at No. 11 and No. 12. USC and Vanderbilt have swapped after the Trojans hosted and defeated the Commodores 4-3 on Valentine's Day. USC takes over at No. 11, while Vanderbilt slides down into No. 12.  

Elsewhere in the women's field, No. 52 Indiana scored an upset over in-state rival No. 20 Notre Dame and helped boost the Hoosiers up to No. 42 while the Irish fell to No. 26. A 4-3 upset over No. 37 LSU gave No. 52 Wake Forest an eight-spot jump up the rankings, from No. 60 previously. The Demon Deacons saved three match points at second singles when the match was tied at 3-3. The Tigers fell seven spots to No. 44. 

Follow the Leader: On the men's side, members of the Top 10 behind No. 1 Oklahoma are (in order): USC, Georgia, Virginia, Baylor, Illinois, Duke, North Carolina, Ohio State and Texas. Trailing North Carolina on the women's side are (in order): Florida, Georgia, UCLA, California, Baylor, Virginia, Alabama, Miami (FL) and Stanford.

Women's Top 25: SEC - 8; ACC - 6; Big 12 - 4; Pac-12 - 4; Big 10 - 3. 

Three teams have shuffled into the women's Top 75 this week. No. 68 Colorado and No. 73 Marshall are both ranked for the first time this season, and No. 75 Kansas is ranked for the first time since January 6.
