TEMPE, Ariz. – Voted on by a panel of the eight participating head coaches at the 2017 ITA Division III National Women’s Team Indoor Championship, hosted by Sewanee: The University of the South at the Adams Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Wednesday that Pomona-Pitzer is this year’s ITA Team Sportsmanship Award recipient.
The ITA Team Sportsmanship Award, now in its third year of existence, is presented to the team that displays exceptional sportsmanship, character and ethical conduct during the national championship event.
The Sagehens, winners of the 2016 ITA Division III National Women’s Team Indoor Championship, came within a match of defending their national title, falling to No. 1 Emory in a hard-fought 5-4 contest in the 2017 final.
