Oklahoma State kicked off its match with Northwestern by securing the doubles point, and then raced out to a 3-1 lead thanks to a pair of singles victories. The Wildcats closed within 3-2, and were making moves on the two remaining courts, but Julian Cash scored the match-clinching point for Oklahoma State at No. 1 singles, as he defeated Strong Kirchheimer 6-1, 6-7, 6-4.

The Cowboys advance to Saturday’s quarterfinal round with the win, and will take on No. 3 Ohio State, which defeated Oklahoma State’s in-state rival Oklahoma 4-0. The No. 13 Sooners were up a set in each of the three remaining matches against the Buckeyes, who were buoyed by wins at No. 1 singles (Mikael Torpegaard def. Andrew Harris 7-6 (4), 6-1), No. 2 singles (Hugo Di Feo def. Spencer Papa 7-5, 6-3) and No. 5 singles (Martin Joyce def. Adrian Oetzbach 6-1, 6-3).

Wake Forest, the No. 2 seed in the #ITAIndoors field, looked impressive in its 4-0 win over No. 15 Mississippi State. The Demon Deacons will take on No. 10 Texas, which outlasted No. 7 Florida 4-2. The Longhorns were carried to victory by Rodrigo Banzer at No. 6 singles, who defeated the Gators’ Jordan Belga in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 7-6.
