The field for the concluding event of the fall collegiate season continues to round into shape, with eight singles competitors representing four divisions of collegiate tennis securing automatic bids during Saturday’s play at the 2017 ITA Oracle Cup, held at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.

The Division II, Division III, NAIA and JUCO champions will compete against top Division I competition at the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place November 1-5, in Palm Desert, California.

While the singles champions were decided on Saturday, the Oracle Cup doubles men’s and women’s champions will be crowned on Sunday. The winners of the final two matches, scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. EDT start, will advance to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships. The women’s doubles final features Wesleyan’s Eudice Chong and Victoria Yu taking on Indianapolis’s Hanna Volikova and Alina Kislitskaya. The men’s final sees Georgia Gwinnett’s Kevin Konfederak and Gilad Berman versus Azusa Pacific’s Oliver Frank and Christian Schmid.

Konfederak was the first player to lock up a trip to California, as he scored a 6-1, 6-1 victory over No. 4 Daniel Ceron of Keiser in the NAIA men’s singles final. This is individual championship No. 9 for Konfederak, who will take part in the ITA’s end of fall national tournament for the third straight year. Konfederak also took home the NAIA doubles title, as he and Berman defeated Keiser’s Ceron and Lagos 6-2, 6-3. Camille Gbaguidi of SCAD won her second consecutive NAIA title at the ITA Oracle Cup. Chong then teamed up with Yu to win the DIII doubles title over Emory’s Gonzalez Rico and Bridget Harding 6-1, 6-1 and advance to the Oracle Cup semifinals. There, the 2017 NCAA National Champions in doubles (Chong won her third straight singles national title as well) scored a straight set win over Keiser’s Bianco and Farfan to move one match away from qualifying for the end of fall national championship in doubles.
